Research:

I. I.  The Folklore Archive of Moldova and Bukovina (AFMB) was established in 1970 by professor Ion H. Ciubotaru who also wrote The General Ethnographic and Folkloric Questionnaire, as a main field work instrument. The archive holds about 300, 000 ethnographic documents, many of them being yet unpublished. Customs, rituals, beliefs and superstitions have been collected from all traditional culture areas. The AFMB database gathers field notebooks, audio and video documents, and photos. AFMB represents the only etnographic archive with information from the Eastern part of Romania and the third largest database from the country.

II. Typologies and texts corpuses represent a fundamental project of the Romanian Academy, Iaşi Subsidiary, meant to grant access and provide scientific interpretation to documents from the Folklore Archive of Moldova and Bukovina. Four books have been published: The Medical Folklorefrom Moldova. The typologies continue with the following themes: Agrarian Rites from Moldova (PhD Senior Researcher Silvia Ciubotaru), Winter Folk Customs and Beliefs (PhD Scientific Researcher Ioana Repciuc), and Folk Architecture  from Moldova (PhD Senior Researcher Adina Ciubotariu).
